Whilst he is contracted in the public service, that their Lordships will be able to sanction a grant to him of a pension adequate to the services performed, which will enable him to pass the remainder of his days (probably but few) in comparative ease as regards pecuniary affairs.
Their Lordships have not disapproved & finally I am to point out that in Ceylon the rate of pension awarded to public officers is 1/60th per annum of the amount authorised in this country by the Superannuation Act; and that the consideration, which would justify this indulgence in the case of Ceylon, would seem with increased force
